On June 24th (and the preceding days!), the magic of the Festa del Muzzuni comes alive in Alcara Li Fusi (ME). This propitiatory rite is deeply rooted in Hellenic civilization and is dedicated to the fertility of the earth and to love!

  • U Muzzuni: Admire the ancient "mozzato" (beheaded/truncated) neck pitchers, the symbol of the festival, adorned with flowers, ears of wheat, and the unmissable laureddi (wheat germinated in the dark).

  • Rites and Traditions: Let yourself be involved in the evocative Rito del Comparatico – an indissoluble oath of friendship sealed by intertwining pinky fingers and folk songs.

  • Music and Folklore: The village streets come alive with love songs and "chianote" (polyphonic songs), traditional dances, and the historical re-enactment that unites Pagan elements (the cult of Demeter) and Christian elements (St. John the Baptist).
