Area Vaticano

The Trionfale district of Rome gets its name from the Trionfale Road, a route that brave Roman soldiers would pass through after winning a battle, receiving the well-deserved homage of the people. This captivating neighborhood, which came to life in 1911, was officially established in 1921. During the Middle Ages, the Trionfale Road also became the path taken by pilgrims who, along the Via Francigena, arrived in Rome to embark on their sacred journey.
